The Czech auto manufacturers are also contemplating the launch of a small car similar to Volkswagen UP which would be their second such small car after Fabia.  Winfried Vahland, Chairman of Skoda Auto said that the company considered India as an important and competitive market.  Much hope was being placed on a successful launch for the MissionL.

This small sized sedan would be similar to Volkswagen Vento which possessed 1.6 liter petrol and 1.4 liter diesel engines and was priced at Rs. 7 to Rs. 9.5 lakhs.  Skoda sedan MissionL would be priced lower than this and is expected to see good results. With a number of small cars by various auto manufacturers seeing good sales, Skoda too is contemplating development of a small car ideal for city driving and will be showcased at 2012 Geneva Motor Show.  This small car will have separate versions specially suited for Indian and European users.
