According to reports, in order to get back its position in the Indian market, Mercedes Benz, known as the pioneers of luxury cars, has launched its new generation SLK 350, which goes for Rs 61.9 lakh.

Also, the new SLK 350 is said to be one of the most revolutionary products to come from Mercedes Benz, and with its strong ‘innovative features and state of art technology’, the car has proven not to be just an exciting experience to the driver, but a visual pleasure, confirming its status as a ‘benchmark product’ globally.
However, encountered with intense competition from BMW and Audi, the brand intends to come back into action, as it registered a sale of 3,798 cars in the first six months of 2011, while BMW sold 4,524 units in a similar period. Though, the brand recorded an impressive 58% increase in sales when compared to a similar period in 2010,
Debasis Mitra, Director, Marketing and Sales, Mercedes India, said: “Our cars are not talking about numbers but technology, excluding X1 category of cars priced at Rs22lakh and in the premium SUV segment, one of the fastest growing car segments, and far ahead of BMW in other luxury car market”.
