Gold, Commodities Tumble as Dollar Climbs

COMEX gold futures for December delivery tumbled $16, or 1.2%, to settle at $1,322.60 per ounce while the U.S. Dollar Index climbed 0.6% to 78.17 this afternoon.

Gold, Commodities Tumble as Dollar Climbs

Other commodities declined alongside gold, with silver futures – per the December contract – retreating $0.43, or 1.8%, to $23.40 per ounce.  Copper, platinum, and palladium finished lower by 2.4%, 1.5%, and 1.0%, respectively.
