Most Expensive Car: Morgan Aero SuperSports

September 5, 2010 |22:44 | For Him  By : Team X

As part of the Centenary celebrations Morgan announces a truly special model. Designed and engineered in house, the Morgan Aero SuperSports is a lightweight aluminium sports car with a luxurious specification. The interior features a comfortable combination of polished hardwoods, hand stitched leather and electronic technology to create a driving environment that is efficient, ergonomic and sumptuous. In spite of all this opulence the overall weight of the car is still minimal so the car is responsive to driver inputs and economical to run. The unique way Morgan can achieve this is down to our use of aircraft style superformed aluminium outer panels and the skills of our craftsmen to hand finish the assembly of each car.

Most Expensive Car: Morgan Aero SuperSports

This technology debuted in the 100 AeroMax coupes built by the factory in 2008 and 2009. Such was demand for this model, that Morgan have taken the decision to produce the Morgan Aero SuperSports. A limited edition, the car makes use of two aluminium detachable roof panels. These can either turn the car effectively into a coupe or when detached bring fresh air and the aromas of the seasons to the driving experience without undue wind disturbance to spoil the journey. The panels can be stored conveniently in the boot.

It comes with working doors, bonnet and, reportedly, steering.

Under the bonnet will be a tiny version of the 16-cylinder 'W' engine, which drives the real car to almost 254mph. The model is called the Bugatti Veyron Diamond Ltd Edition. The full-size version is named after Pierre Veyron, the French Le Mans winner, who drove for Bugatti.

When Your Son Crashes the (Very Expensive) CarPeter Cheney reviews automobiles for The Toronto Globe and Mail. His 18-year-old son, Will, thinks that’s a pretty cool job, and often brings his friends to the family garage to check out the loaner car his dad is reviewing next.

Most recently, the car in question was a Porsche Turbo, an $180,000 model that Peter Cheney describes as one that “every driving aficionado and pension raider dreams of – 500 horsepower, leather-lined cockpit and a 330 km/h top end. Like a tiger in an Armani suit – killer chassis, unbeatable power, but suave and comfortable, too.

AT&T Increases Early Termination Fee for Smartphone Users

May 24, 2010 |09:38 | For Him  By : Team X

AT&T Increases Early Termination Fee for Smartphone UsersAT&T is taking steps to reduce the number of customers it may lose once the company’s exclusive deal with Apple expires. Consumers who wanted one of Apple’s smartphones were forced to go through the cell phone service provider AT&T. The company is implementing a huge price increase to those who wish to cancel their contracts early. The fee of 175 dollars for early termination will jump to 325 dollars.

AT&T reps say the fee hike has nothing to do with their contract with Apple. It has more to do with them following in the footsteps of their competitor Verizon Wireless. Verizon customers get slapped with a 350 dollar early termination fee. Their fee hike went into effect in November. Both companies have applied this new contractual obligation to those purchasing smartphones. Both companies reduce the amount of the penalty 10 dollars for every month a customer stays in their contract.

Worlds Most Expensive CarsIf you're looking to travel in style and money's not a concern, you could opt for shares in a private jet, invest in a Louis Vuitton leather luggage set or spend six figures on any of a handful of street-legal, ultra-luxe cars. It'll take a good three-quarters of a million dollars to own something like the SSC Ultimate Aero.

The supercar produces 1,287 horsepower and features a carbon fiber-dashboard and center console with a digital temperature control unit and tire pressure monitor, for optimum driving conditions. But if you drive the Aero, be prepared to be outclassed by owners of the Lamborghini Reventón.

Only 20 drivers willing to part with $1.42 million will get to enjoy the car's fighter jet-inspired sharp edges and precise lines. You'll know the Reventón by its glass engine hood, solid aluminum fuel tank lid and opaque carbon fins screwed onto the black aluminum spokes on the wheels.

World's Most Expensive Christmas Card Includes iPhone

December 10, 2009 |12:04 | For Her | For Him  By : Team X

Former CNET UK staffer Chris Stevens has designed one of the most expensive Christmas cards ever, and also released a video that shows you how to make one too. The card includes an iPhone that displays the Bauble app, which shows a Christmas ball that sways from side to side as the iPhone is tilted.

While the idea appears to be conceived as an advertisement for Bauble, the card is at least an amusing idea. It's very unnecessary, sort of like taking an airplane to cross the street. I'm not sure who would treat an iPhone this way, but for a project that probably nobody will actually take on Stevens sure gives perfect step-by-step instructions.

If anything, this card could be a clever way to give someone an iPhone. Maybe I'm missing something, but I believe an iPod Touch could be used as well, which wouldn't require a phone contract. On a side note, the slots in UK mailboxes sure look small; I'm surprised Stevens could fit his iPhone Christmas card in one of those.
